Why You Shouldn’t Sign Up for a Gym Membership

We’ve heard more stories of people signing up for a gym membership and not working out than those who signed up and actually lost weight. So much money has been wasted and while a certain gym should have hundreds of members, you’ll see just a few people each time you go. If you really want to be fit and healthy, there are many ways for you to do so without having to go to the gym. Don’t be fooled by gym membership sales tactics because the people who tell you about these are professional salespeople and they will make the membership so attractive for you but you’ll end up wasting a lot of money.

You Can Always Work Out on Your Own

Thanks to YouTube and tons of online articles, you can find exercise methods and diet schemes that will help you lose weight, gain muscles and look absolutely fit. There are so many ways to exercise without having to go to the gym. Run, bike or swim regularly and you will see the same effect you’ll get from the gym. The gym trainer will ask you to do pushups, sit-ups, burpees and a bunch of other exercises that don’t need any gym equipment at all and you can simply get a yoga mat and do it at home.

Invest on Gym Equipment for Your Home

ROWING MACHINE REVIEWSFind out the best kind of gym equipment that you will love using and turn your guestroom into a mini gym at home. Invest on one equipment then another each time you have extra cash to spend. That membership fee you will be spending can be used to buy equipment that you can keep for life. For now, you could buy a nice treadmill, then an indoor cycle, and you can look for a rowing machine that’s best to invest on next. It seems to be a very expensive piece of equipment but actually more affordable than signing up for the gym for a year and you can use this rowing machine for several years instead. When you think about your money as an investment, you’ll find that buying your own equipment is more practical than having to just pay for membership that expires.

The Trip to the Gym is Time Consuming

If you can get out of bed, wear rubber shoes and work out with your old shirt on, you can practically save a lot of time than having to walk or drive to the gym each time. The thought of having to travel to the gym makes you lose motivation already. If you could begin your workout the moment you step out of your bedroom, then you could save a lot of time. If you have allocated 1 hour of exercise per day, your 10 minute trip to the gym and another 10 minutes going back already equate to 20 minutes. So you have 40 minutes left to workout which isn’t really a lot.

While we don’t really discourage going to the gym because after all, it has more benefits than disadvantages when it comes to your health and fitness, what we have discussed above is just telling you what you could get out of not going to the gym. This gives you the options and an unbiased weighing of pros and cons to help you come up with the perfect decision.
